How to get the "Miranda Sings" Look

Hey there lovely, how have you been?
Beautiful, I hope. I've been super busy lately, resulting in this blog to be long over due.

When I was handing out candy on this past Halloween, I figured I need a simple, yet committed costume to do so in. Then a brilliant idea came to me saying, "Why don't I dress up as my idol, Miranda Sings?"

For any of you who don't know who Miranda Sings is, she is a HILARIOUS comedian on youtube. I HIGHLY suggest you go look her up.

This is a very simple to do look but it requires a high level of dedication and commitment to really make the inner Miranda in you shine through.

Step 1: Begin with a fresh face. Smear any remaining eye makeup below your eyes.

Step 2: Pin any hair near your face back, in order to enlarge and fully show of your forehead.

Step 3: Decide whether your hair is curly enough to keep forward or to pull back if lacking volume. I chose to pull my hair back because I felt it wasn't as curly as it should be.

Step 4: Apply lipstick. Apply fully on lips and then apply generously above lips to give a fuller look

Now you have the Miranda Sings look!
If you are wondering more about the outfit, I wore this button down, checkered shirt. I made sure it wasn't revealing because Miranda wouldn't approve. Although you cannot see, I paired it with a pair of red sweatpants to really compliment the lipstick and provide an element of comfort as well.

If you have any questions at all about how I achieved the Miranda Sings look, feel free to ask away in the comments section!
I would love to see your Miranda Sings look too!

& Let me know what you want to see next!

One year ago from today..

Hey there!

One year ago from today..

Well it wasn't one of my best days. It was probably one of the saddest I have experienced so far. My best friend, my birthday buddy but mainly known as my dog, died.

I remember that day filled sadness, confusion, tears and just more sadness. I was just so confused how I was going to go on without my best friend.

My best friend's name was Eddie. He was fourteen, which means he was pretty old but he was still going hard until the end. I was fifteen back then so we were very close in age, exactly one year apart. I basically grew up with him my entire childhood and he was always known my dog. He was my parter in crime, my bedtime buddy, my leftover eater and most importantly mine.

It's hard to explain to someone who hasn't lost their pet before how you feel. Like a part of you is gone, you just feel empty.

Like a week after Eddie was gone, I got asked to apply to a program called Shad Valley. I basically just ended up applying because I wanted something to do to spend my time on besides being sad.

I will have a more in depth post about Shad Valley very soon!

I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes bad things have to happen in order for amazing things to occur. It's hard to believe, but things always get better. It may take time but it always does.

Applying to Shad Valley was probably the best thing to ever happen to me. I applied thinking I'd never get in but somehow I did. (Which was a real confidence booster) The best wasn't just the fact I got accepted but it was experiencing it. Attending Shad Valley was the most incredible thing I have ever experienced. I met 55 other students who are insanely talented and passionate. These students will change the world but they started by changing me.

It's so weird to think that this incredible thing happened because I was sad and just didn't know what to do.

Thanks Eddie, you were my best friend but now I have 55 more thanks to you.

Rest in peace, baby.

October Favourites

Hey there beautifuls,
How was your October? Well, mine started out as quite confusing but by then end I was really appreciative of what I had and I gained more of a positive outlook on life. October was definitely a month filled with learning.

Anyways, here are my monthly favourites for October!

Favourite food: Nutella Hot Chocolate which I learned from TheGridMonster's youtube channel. It's very good and I highly recommend it!

Favourite TV show: Degrassi which just recently started started up again and I'm quite happy about it 😄

Favourite Movie: Pitch Perfect

Favourite Youtube Video: So I have two favourite videos which are quite different.
1) How to: Make Nutella Hot Chocolate by TheGridMonster. Since this is the second time I've mentioned it, you should probably try it out.
2) Friend zone by The Wing Girls. They changed the words from the song Roar by Katy Perry to a song about being in the friend zone. It is quite hilarious

Favourite Youtube Cover: Unconditional by Katy Perry covered by Ali Brustofski

Favourite Youtuber: Ali Brustofski. I have been OBSESSED with all of her music covers lately.

Favourite Song: Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. This has been my jam for months now.

Favourite Hairstyle: Rope braided curls. I will have to do a photo tutorial on this soon, because it is very hard to explain just using words.

Favourite Book: Paper towns by John Green. I'm a huge fan of John Green. I seem to be only reading his amazing books lately.

Favourite quote:"As long as you don't become a dick on the journey to self discovery, then enjoy the ride" -Jim Chapman. I laugh every time I read that quote because it is so true. When you are growing up, you are going to have no clue who you are times. And that's totally okay as long as you are not a dick.

I'd love to hear how your October went and some of your favourites!
Here's to an even better November!
