Halloween Inspired Crackle Nails

Hey there! How excited are you for Halloween?!

Well I actually am so excited that I came up with a very simpleHalloween inspired crackle nail art design for you guys!

This is a super easy, super quick nails design that can be done with almost any nail polish.

Supplies:
-clear coat nail polish (any will work)
-Orange nail polish (the shade of orange is up to you)
-Black crackle nail polish (any brand will do)

I personally like to apply a clear coat because it serves as the perfect base coat and protects the nail from being stained from the coloured nail polishes.

The shade of orange is really just your preference. I just chose a nice, light but bright orange because I wanted to make sure it would show through the dark, black, crackle coat.

I think that the black nail polish really gives my nails the dark and scary, Halloween feel. To finish the look off, I always like to put I top coat of clear nail polish because I find the nail art last longer and it's also shiny.

The shades of nail polishes I used were but you are definitely not limited to:
Clear: Claire's cosmetics nail polish clear
Orange: Nail Lac-Quer Aldo 22436 Juicy Gossip
Black: Sally Hansen Crackle overcoat

Also, if any of you were wondering the app I used to edit this photo tutorial was InstaFrame. I highly reccomend it to any of you who need a super good and free photo editor.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed my first ever photo nail tutorial!
If you do this tutorial, I would love to see a picture!

Happy Halloween!

P.S. Here are four random fun facts about this tutorial:

1. I stared writing this when my IPad was at 16% charged and now it is at 8%
2. Looking at the pictures now made me realized how crooked my fingers really are Haha
3. I used grid paper from my pre cal assignment so I wouldn't get nail polish on my desk
4. I used my sweatpants as a background for my hand in one of the photos because I thought they looked "Halloweeny"

Gives Me Hope

Hey there! How's your Friday night going? Beautifully, I hope.

Well, basically I have spent my entire night reading stories on this website called givesmehope.com
Like I'm not even joking. I'm actually on page 106 right now.

For any of you guys who have no clue what I'm talking about, this is a website that gives you the opportunity to share and read different short stories that had given that writer hope.

Here is just one if the stories that I came across:

This is just one of the many examples of a person reaching out to help a complete stranger. I think the acts of kindness that are displayed on this website are beautiful. They have inspired me.

One thing that I have noticed about the GMH is that the majority of the stories seem to be dated from 2010. That's three whole years ago. I'm really confused on why they stories are from so long ago. Perhaps, I'm just missing something? I'm going to look into this more and get back to you guys. To me, it is quite surprising to me that the site is not very popular in the current year of 2013.

I'm going to make it my mission to find out!

In the meanwhile, I'm challenging YOU to think of some things that give you hope!
I'm think my next blog post will be a post-thanksgiving mixed in with what gives me hope.

I DO want to hear what you guys have to say! What do you think about GMH? What you like me blogging about in the past? & What you want be to do next?

You are great & you give me hope,
Xoxo

Reflecting on Crying & the Little things

Hey there beautiful! How have you been? Hopefully life has been treating you well.

Lately, life has been treating me so well that I've hardly anytime to reflect on it. One of the main reasons I haven't been blogging lately because I was away on a school like trip thing. It was really cool because I got to meet with youth from all across the country. But it was basically plackes the entire day with activities. Somedays, I felt like I hardly had anytime to breath. (I mean that in the best way possible)

Looking back now, I am sooo glad I vlogged throughout the trip. (Vlogged meaning blogging but with a video at random times) It has given me the opportunity to look back all the good memories that I made. What made its so memorable for me wasn't the place itself, but the people I met and the little things we did together.

The little things were dancing on the bus with the coolest of bus drivers. Being terrible at pictionary but laughing through it. Sneaking food around the dorms ever so secretly. Waiting in the never ending food line for meals which ended up being a fantastic place to make friends. Basically, just being with new people and experiencing new things with them MADE my trip for me.

Like any trip, it has to end. And with endings there comes goodbyes. There was one particular goodbye that really touched my heart.

It was approximately 4am and none of us had any sleep yet because we stayed up the entire night because it was our last night. So everyone was quite tired. I was doing very good at not crying until I had to say goodbye to this one boy. The thing about this boy was that he was a year younger than me and I didn't even think of him as anything more than just friends. We were friendly all week long and became actual real good friends on the last day. But when it was time to say goodbye, I cried. A lot. Infact I think my tears were infectious because he was crying too. Something he said to me during this time really stood out to me.

He said, "Don't cry, you're just so happy all of the time."

Now, just over a week later. Those words still stick out to me.

It actually means a lot to me to think that someone thought that I was a happy person to be around. Like any real human being nobody is happy all of the time. Like it just makes me feel really good.

But also it makes me wonder, why is it so bad to cry? Why hold back your feelings? The fact that people willingly can hold back there tears confuses me.

I came up with this little poem (ish) thing on crying. It basically explains how I feel on holding back tears.

Basically, those few little words made me reflect on my whole trip as whole and those little words made me cry even more.

I am challenging YOU to do two things:
1. Reflect on a positive trip or an experience that you've been on. What were the little things that made it so significant?
2. Cry. Not right now. Cry next time you feel like you need to. Don't hold back how you feel.

Also, I felt too weird letting you guys know where I went on my trip because my blog is ment to be more secretive, you know? So I just left it in general terms. Hope you lovely readers didn't mind!

Until next time,
Xoxo

Very Funny "What does the Fox Say?" Text Message

Hey there!
For any of you guys who have read my September Favourites you may recall What Does The Fox Say? as being my favourite youtube video for the month.

The other day, one of my very good friends texted me this message and I couldn't just not share it with you guys.

Shoutout to Leigh for sending me this!

She basically just sent me the first part of the song using several different emoticons and I can't get over how great this is. Like it is beautiful.

If you have no clue what I'm talking about, I strongly suggest you go look up on Youtube, Ylvis - The Fox (What does the Fox say?)
It will be the best 3 minutes and 45 seconds of your life.

And if you are just as obsessed with this song as you are with shirtless boys, I highly suggest you go look up the Abercrombie & Fitch version on Youtube, it won't disappoint.

Let me know what you think about The Fox!

September Favourites

Hey there beautifuls!
September has actually been such a busy month for me. With everything from school starting back up to traveling. I felt like I never really had a moment to relax but now that October has rolled around I'm back! & I promise I will blog more throughout October!

Anyways, here are my September Favourites:

Favourite food: Raspberries and Nutella

Favourite TV show: X Factor. I already love this season so much more than the last.

Favourite Movie: Ms. Doubtfire. I actually don't remember what it was actually called I just remember laughing all the time.

Favourite Youtube Video: What does the fox Say?

Favourite Youtube Cover: Roar originally by Katy Perry but covered by Megan&Liz

Favourite Youtuber: Jenna Marbles. She's a classic and I love her.

Favourite Song: Never Been Hurt by Demi Lovato

Favourite Hairstyle: I'm the worst at having a partial beauty blog. I don't have a favourite hairstyle for September. Like on a good day I would straighten it. I am trying my best to be without heat on my hair because it's so damaging. I just want my hair to be long, okay?

Favourite quote: "If the wind will not serve, take to the oars" Funny story about why this is my quote for the month. Back in August a good friend of mine got this quote tattooed on him. To me at the time it just meant to push through the hard times and find another way. At the end of September, this same friend got in an accident. Don't worry, he's fine but it still freaked me out. The whole situation just brought be back to the quote.

Favourite book: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I'll just have to do an entire post on it because the book was that good. And I usually don't even read for fun.

Favourite app: just the plain old, classic camera app. I've been doing a lot of real life vlogging lately. Once I get my own laptop to edit, I'll be sure to post some. The youtube dream is getting closer and closer :)

September was good and super busy for me, how was your September? What are your favourites?
